About
Hi, we're Oshimo.
A small coffee and panini spot on a corner in Kuchai Lama. Here's the short version of how we got here.
The name
It means “press”.
Oshimo comes from 押す (osu), Japanese for “to press”, plus mo, a little bit more. Press a little more into every day.
Pressing is most of what we do. We press the coffee before every shot, press every panini on the grill, and there's a big red 押 on the wall, like the hanko seals people in Japan stamp instead of signing.
On our menu, Press means your go-to: your favourite coffee, the one you come back for every day.
5 things you didn't know about the 押The corner
We kept the floor.
Before us, this corner was a kopitiam. We couldn't bring ourselves to cover up the old Peranakan tiles, so we built the whole café around them.
Navy wall, light oak, paper lanterns and a red seal. Part KL shophouse, part Tokyo side street. You can walk in wearing office clothes or running kit and feel fine either way.
The story of the floor

The coffee
Made by a barista, not a button.
No push-button machines here. A real person grinds, presses and pulls every shot, then steams your milk. It takes a few seconds longer. You'll taste why.
We want it good enough for a Saturday, but priced so you'll come back on a Tuesday.
